To be added in the future.
In 1995, the Avebury Archaeological and Historical Research Group (AAHRG) organised a day-long symposium in Devizes, Wiltshire, about Avebury and World Heritage management in its widest sense. This volume represents papers from that conference, many of which are still highly relevant. After an introduction by the then Chief Executive of Wessex Archaeology, there are three general papers on World Heritage including a case study on Ironbridge; three papers on Avebury follow; then there are two papers about other WHSs in the UK, and finally the volume concludes with a paper on the consequences of World Heritage designation, including a case study on Avebury.
